The role of laparoscopic resection for pancreatic discases remains controversial. Only a few series with a significant number of patients have been reported to date. Laparoscopic limitations for pancreatic resection includes retroperitoneal position of the gland, close vascular relationship, fragile consistency of the pancreas, lost of tactile sensation and difficulty to explore laparoscopically the head and the uncinate process of the pancreas.
